Terms of Service

These terms explain your use of Careers.ai. Read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. They do not limit rights that applicable consumer law gives you.

1. Who operates Careers.ai

Careers.ai is operated by Nicola Ballotta, a sole proprietor based in Italy. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean this operator.

2. The service

Careers.ai is self-service software for building, editing, analysing and publishing career profiles and preparing job applications. Features include CV analysis and feedback, role and job-fit suggestions, salary estimates, CV tailoring and writing assistance. Available features and usage allowances are described on our product page and pricing page. Roadmap features and waitlists are not promises of delivery.

You remain responsible for reviewing and choosing what to use. We do not act as a recruitment agency, make hiring decisions on behalf of employers, or guarantee interviews, employment, salary increases or any particular assessment outcome. AI results can be incomplete, biased or incorrect. Check facts and do not present invented experience or qualifications as your own.

3. Accounts and access

You must be at least 16 to use the service. If you cannot enter a binding contract under the law applicable to you, a parent or guardian must authorise your use. Purchases must be made by an adult with authority to pay. Keep your credentials secure and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access. You must provide accurate account information and only use accounts you are authorised to access.

Free access does not require a payment card. A waitlist or invitation may apply. Creating an account does not itself start a paid subscription.

4. Your content and AI output

You retain your rights in the CVs, profiles and other content you provide. You grant us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to supply and protect the service, including sending relevant content to the AI providers described in the Privacy Policy when you request AI features. Do not upload material you have no right to use or unnecessary sensitive information about yourself or others.

You may use and edit the outputs provided to you, subject to applicable law and third-party rights. Outputs may not be unique and we do not guarantee that they qualify for copyright protection. Careers.ai software, branding and interface remain protected by their respective owners’ rights.

5. Publication and sharing

Your working profile is private until you choose to publish it. Published profiles can be viewed, copied and indexed by others. You can unpublish your profile, but we cannot immediately remove copies or search caches held by third parties. Review contact details and other personal information before publishing. A search-indexing preference is a request to search engines, not access control.

6. Prices, subscriptions and usage credits

Payment availability: paid checkout has not launched. Paddle is our intended reseller and Merchant of Record, subject to its approval and activation. This policy does not mean that Paddle has approved Careers.ai. Free and authorised test access do not create a live payment obligation.

When Paddle checkout becomes available, Paddle will be the seller for transactions completed through its checkout, and will handle payment collection, applicable transaction taxes and payment-related refunds. Those purchases will also be governed by the Paddle Buyer Terms shown at checkout. Careers.ai remains responsible for the software and product support.

Before any purchase, the offer and checkout must show the currency, price, applicable taxes, billing interval, included usage and whether the purchase renews. Do not proceed if those details differ from the offer you intended to buy. No card charge is authorised merely by viewing a price or opening a checkout.

A recurring subscription renews for the interval you select unless cancelled before renewal. You can cancel future renewal through billing management or contact us for help. Cancellation normally leaves paid access available through the paid period. Plan changes and any prorated charge must be disclosed before confirmation. Annual subscriptions provide their credit allowance monthly rather than all at once.

Credits are units for using Careers.ai features, not money, a transferable balance or a payment instrument. An AI action shows its credit cost before you run it. Unused credits roll over and do not expire while your account remains open; cancellation does not by itself remove credits already earned. Account deletion removes the account and its remaining credit balance, subject to any refund rights. Credits cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash, except that eligible purchases may be refunded under our Refund Policy or applicable law. Failed AI jobs restore the credits charged for that job.

7. Cancellation, withdrawal and refunds

Our Refund Policy explains how to cancel, exercise a withdrawal right or request a monetary refund. Credit restoration after an AI failure is separate from a payment refund and does not replace your statutory remedies. Nothing in these terms excludes remedies for a faulty or misdescribed service, or an applicable cooling-off period.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the service for unlawful activity, impersonation, fraud, infringement or harassment; upload malicious software; attempt unauthorised access; bypass usage limits; or disrupt other users or the service. Do not use AI output to fabricate credentials or misrepresent someone else. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law or address a material breach, and will explain the reason and provide a contact route unless doing so is prohibited or would compromise security.

9. Account closure and service changes

You may request account deletion in Settings or contact us. Cancel any paid subscription before closure; if billing cancellation cannot complete, contact us rather than assuming deletion has stopped billing. Our Privacy Policy describes deletion and backup retention. If we discontinue paid functionality, we will provide notice where practicable and honour applicable cancellation, refund and consumer remedies.

We maintain and update the software, but do not promise uninterrupted access or error-free AI results. We will not use this statement to exclude mandatory standards for digital services or security updates.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence or infringement of mandatory consumer rights. For business users only, and to the extent allowed by law, we exclude indirect or consequential business losses and limit our aggregate contractual liability to fees paid for Careers.ai in the preceding 12 months. These business-user limitations do not apply to consumers where prohibited.

11. Changes, applicable law and complaints

We date revisions on this page. Material changes will be communicated to existing users by email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect, except where a legal or urgent security requirement requires a shorter period. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights for an existing purchase.

Italian law governs these service terms. If you are a consumer, you retain mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in the courts available under the law of your habitual residence. The separate terms for a Paddle purchase govern your transaction with Paddle.
