This content is a working draft and must be replaced with lawyer-reviewed text before we launch with real user data.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of careers.ai. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Who we are
careers.ai is operated by the entity specified on our About page. When these Terms say “we”, “us”, or “our”, we mean that entity.
2. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use careers.ai. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].
3. Your content
You own your content. Any CV, profile data, or other content you upload to careers.ai remains yours. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and display that content as needed to operate the service (for example, running AI analysis on your CV, or rendering your public profile if you publish it).
You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload and share any content you submit — especially if it contains personal data about third parties (references, colleagues, etc.).
4. Subscriptions, credits, and payments
- Plans — see our pricing page for current plan prices and credit allowances.
- Credit usage — each AI engine run consumes credits from your account balance per the published cost matrix. Credits from monthly plan allowances reset each billing period; top-up credits never expire.
- Billing — subscriptions and top-ups are processed by Stripe. Prices are in USD and do not include applicable taxes (Stripe handles tax calculation at checkout where required).
- Cancellation — you can cancel your subscription anytime from the Customer Portal. You retain access until the end of the billing period; credits you've already earned stay in your account and top-ups are always yours.
- Refunds — we automatically refund credits when our AI engines fail. We don't offer money refunds for dissatisfaction with AI output, but you can always reach out if something feels unfair — we handle requests case-by-case at our discretion.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use careers.ai to impersonate another person or submit content that isn't yours to submit.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service in ways that burden our infrastructure or degrade the experience for other users.
- Use the service for illegal activity or to violate the rights of others.
- Submit content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise unlawful.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. We'll make a good-faith effort to let you know why and give you a chance to appeal, unless doing so would be unsafe or legally prohibited.
6. Public profiles
If you choose to publish your Career Profile to a public URL, that profile and its contents become accessible to anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines. You can unpublish at any time, and you can enable a noindex flag to request that search engines not index your profile.
7. AI-generated content disclaimer
careers.ai uses large language models to analyze CVs and generate feedback, role matches, and salary estimates. These outputs are informational, based on statistical patterns in training data, and can be wrong. They are not career advice, legal advice, or guaranteed predictions. Use your own judgment before acting on them.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may schedule maintenance, deploy updates that change behavior, or pause features for technical or legal reasons. We'll communicate major changes in advance when we can.
9. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, careers.ai and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for direct damages is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and/or an in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where careers.ai is operated, as specified on our About page. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws say otherwise.
